Description

Two rare albumen photographs showing the 29th Division Minstrels with their goat mascot.

These two World War 1 photographs come from estate of Bobby “Hi-Brown Bobby Burns.  Mr. Burns was a vaudeville and minstrel performer in the early 20th century.  He also was a promoter and general manager of several Negro League Baseball teams. In his retirement he operated a record shop in Deland, Florida where I met and knew him for a number of years. These photographs were displayed in his record shop behind his counter.
