Cabinet Photo of Huckleberry Finn and Bird Dog Lumberton NC Robeson County

A wonderful Cabinet photograph of Huckleberry Finn and his trusty Bird Dog taken in April of 1907. The little boy’s name is a bit difficult to discern but I think it is Ernest T. Beggs or perhaps Boyd? I sure was hoping it was Ernest T. Bass ! The photograph which came out of a Black Mountain, North Carolina home measure 6 x 9 inches and I believe it was taken in Lumberton, North Carolina as rudimentarily inscribed on the verso.  As you can see the photograph is in rough condition which is unfortunate but it is what it is. When I bought this photograph many years ago it was in a dilapidated cedar trunk with other photos and documents.
 
But what a great photograph it is despite the condition issues.
