One page letter ; Civil War era for  permission voucher written  by W.S.Hazzard of Vicksburg,MS to transport goods to his Plantation from St. Louis,Missouri. He addresses the letter to the Special Treasury Agent of the Federal Occupation of Mississippi in particular Vicksburg. His invoice includes 300 pounds of bacon,bales of hay and molasses to name a few of the supplies. The name W.S.Hazzard appears in a number of Civil War era newspapers including an article where his wife was hurt by Union bombs whiule in church. There is also a W.S.Hazzard that served on Admiral Dahlgren Southern Atlantic blockading Squardron which particapated in the Mississippi Vicksburg campaign.
