THE STATE OF ISRAEL IS BORN !

 

Israel 75th Anniversary Commemorative Print

 

Step back into time and relive one of the most historic days in modern history - the creation of the State of Israel on May 14, 1948.
 
The announcement, at 4:00 PM on a Friday afternoon, represented the most important declaration in close to 2,000 years of Jewish history.
 
The Palestine Post, (Before it was renamed as what we now know as The Jerusalem Post) was a newspaper published for the English-speaking audience published a one-page, 2-sided, broadsheet that has become a rare and exceptional collector’s item, running in the thousands of dollars.
 
It almost never got published. Upon the declaration of the State, the surrounding Arab armies immediately attacked. Jerusalem had power failures. The Linotype machines started working at 1:00 AM and the iconic paper became a cherished part of history.
 
In honor of the upcoming 75th Anniversary, and with access to a rare original paper, we set out to produce a limited run of the most authentic reproduction ever made. Printed on fine matte paper this absolutely beautiful print captures all the nuances of the original letterpress printing - including broken characters, font and alignment inconsistencies, paper discoloration - and even some show-through” of some of the ads from the reverse side - all in actual size.
