Maxine Yost,1918-2002
Maxine was a fine arts major at Kansas State College in Manhattan, and then at the University of Kansas in Lawrence.
Maxine returned to her art in 1970. Her paintings have been shown from New York to California and won many awards. She won 14 Excellent Awards at the ANAC annual show. She was also one of the artists included in "Impact, The Art of Nebraska Women." Maxine was a signature member of numerous national art societies; a
member of the North Platte Art Guild; and the Association of Nebraska Art Clubs; where she served on the board for nine years and was President in 1985 and 1986. She was a charter member of the North Platte Genealogical Society, and several eastern societies, sharing and helping others with their research.
