Classic mid-century advertising and promotional relic from the heart of New York City. Tri-color wooden folding yardstick advertising Paint Master Brushes for the venerable Manhattan Brush Co. which was situated at 42 W. 18th St. New York City, New York. This spot has been occupied by the ADORAMA camera store since the early 70's. It doesn't get anymore downtown than that! This ruler is in very good vintage condition with vibrant clean colors, but for some small stains. See the photos.
I call this a crazy ruler and hope you can see what I mean from the photos. I think it would be perfect for more than just measuring things, but also for a nostalgic display or maybe as a prop to add a little color to that gritty period piece NYC movie you are working on? Whatever you end up doing with it I know you will love it.
At Portland Pandemonium we always have a lot of stuff suitable for the Man's Cave or the Woman's Nook including lots of tools and notions for the creatives amongst us... "Make yourself useful" is what I tell the things I find, often rescuing them from the dump, picking them up along side the road, or worse! The mundane comes alive when you choose vintage over new: Reuse, Recycle, Repurpose, Rinse and Repeat! Put something old and beat up back to work, or just put it on display to let everyone know you appreciate that they really don't make 'em like they used to!
