The name Gypsophila refers to its fondness for clay soils. This plant is pretty much a carefree annual. Baby's Breath grows very fast and will start blooming in about 4 weeks and will continue to flower for 6 more weeks. Keep seedlings watered the first few weeks to help them along. If you don't cut off all the flowers, but leave a few on, it will reseed itself readily. Can be grown in containers or the garden, anywhere with 6 hrs of sun.
