WW2 Original USMC Four-in-Hand Khaki Service Uniform Necktie
from USMC 2nd Marine Division, 2nd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment Soldier

As worn by US Marines with their service "A"/"B" and blue dress "C" uniforms.

In the fall of 1942, the 2/6 sailed to New Zealand for combat training before being sent to help the US Navy successfully secure the island from Japanese forces. They would go on to help take Tarawa and Saipan before the war would end with Japan's surrender. The 2/6 then went on to Nagasaki to take part in the Occupation of Japan through to July 1946. The story of the 2/6 during WW2 was immortalized less than a decade later with the release of author Leon Uris' classic novel "Battle Cry" in 1955.
