This is a genuine U.S. Army M-65 field jacket in size Small/Regular. The jacket is in used, fair condition. It is dated 1969 and can be clearly delineated as a Vietnam War issue jacket due to the steel zipper. It is faded for the classic OG-107 look. There are small holes at the left sleeve gusset (pictured). There are small stains and there is a pinhole on the right, front waist (pictured). There is some pilling around the collar (pictured).
This is the classic military field jacket. The M-65 superseded the M-51 field jacket in the 1960's. It is the iconic Vietnam War veterans' jacket, and it remains a staple of military inspired fashion. It has often been copied, usually poorly, by commercial manufacturers looking to cash in on the look of the jacket without replicating its durability or the distinct OG-107 color. Conversely, there are companies that make very good reproductions for many times the cost of a used original.
Make no mistake, this is an original, U.S, Army, American made, G.I. field jacket. Not only are these jackets sharp, they are extremely rugged. They are a great weatherproof jacket when worn alone, but also provide tremendous warmth when paired with the liner. This would be a great field jacket for a reenactor who needs a jacket that looks field worn, but not worn out.
Do not pay twice as much for a high dollar reproduction or half as much for a low quality copy!
