1960s Yonezawa Japan Tin Wind Up Mighty Robot aka Athlete Robot Toy – VERY RARE

This is a run and plastic wind up robot made in Japan by Yonezawa toys around 1965 . Nicknamed the “Athlete Robot “ it earned this name due to its unique arm movements, distinguishing it from other mighty robots. It’s one of the larger wind up robots featuring a strong, clockwork mechanism. The main highlight is the way it arms move, rising and flexing, like a bodybuilder something rare among similar robots, which typically have arms that remain at right angles to the body, while the wind up mechanism, clicks and fills intact. The robot is not fully functional at the moment. It may be fixable by someone familiar with preparing wind up twice. Overall, the robot is in good condition for age, though it does show signs of where including scratches, scrapes, and areas of paint loss, please see photos. The head section is free of crack, though the boots have a few scuffs and legs exhibit, the typical speckling affect commonly seen on this model. Sold as is
