Dhanvantri is the Hindu god of medicine and an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. He is considered the divine physician and the god of Ayurveda, the ancient Indian system of healing. Dhanvantri is believed to have emerged from the churning of the ocean (Samudra Manthan) holding a pot of Amrit (nectar of immortality), symbolizing health, vitality, and life. Worshiping him is believed to bring relief from diseases and ensure long life and well-being. His festival is celebrated as Dhanteras, which marks the first day of Diwali, and is associated with wealth and health.
