This beautiful porcelain covered sugar bowl was made by Meito. The pattern name is Garland. It features delicate hand painted pink roses on a white and cream background. It was made in Japan during the 1950s. It measures approximately 5 7/8 nches across the top, and stands approximately 2 3/4 inches tall without the lid on. The opening where the lid fits measures approximately 3 1/4 inches across. There is some wear and a bit of missing paint to the gold trim, and there is minor wear to the design of the sugar bowl, but nothing that would distract from its beauty. The lid does have a small chip on the inside rim. When the lid is on the sugar bowl the chip is not noticeable. It would display well with other vintage porcelain sugar bowls from the same time period.
