Richard Earle "Dick" Whalen Jr. (1921-2002) had a distinguished academic career, beginning with his education at Southern Illinois State Normal University, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree. He later obtained his Master’s degree from the University of Mississippi and a Doctorate from Indiana University. Whalen went on to serve as the first president of Black Hawk College in Moline, Illinois, and held notable administrative roles as Dean of Students at Dickinson State University (ND) and New Mexico Highlands University (NM). 

Included in this sale are the original contrats for his service at Black Hawk College.
