Fine copy of Emily Bronte's original first edition manuscript of Wuthering Heights as she wrote it. Includes introductory biographical notes by both the editors and sister Charolette Bronte. Indeed, it was Charolette who edited, revised, and supervised the issuing of a "second edition" two years after Emily's death and it is that edition that most of has have read and taken as Emily's original writing. This book corrects that assumption. Nonetheless, Heathcliff remains a malcontent misanthrope and an all around party-pooper (IMHO). This book was published mid-century by Nelson Doubleday, New York, New York. 298 pages, two-tone leatherette hardbound 5.5" X 8.5" in very good vintage condition. Vellum paper with rough cut edges.
