Synopsis :

Ostania and Westalis, two adjacent countries, have a thin veneer of peace that is continuously under danger due to the actions of corrupt politicians, fervent nationalists, and other forces that promote violence. Famous spy and master of disguise "Twilight" completes perilous missions one after another despite their schemes in the hopes that no child will have to see the atrocities of war.

Under the pseudonym "Loid Forger," a renowned psychiatrist, Twilight goes undercover in the busy Ostanian city of Berlint. His actual goal, though, is to obtain information about well-known politician Donovan Desmond, who seldom makes public appearances at his sons' esteemed school, Eden Academy. Loid executes his grand scheme by enlisting the aid of single city hall secretary Yor Briar to serve as his wife and adopting the inquisitive six-year-old orphan Anya as his daughter. Anya will attend Eden Academy, where Loid believes she'll do well and where he can meet Donovan without drawing unwanted attention to himself.

Sadly for Loid, not even a guy with his talent could pull off the role of a devoted husband and parent. In the same way that Loid keeps his true identity a secret, Yor, the "Thorn Princess" of underground assassination, and Anya, an esper with mind-reading abilities, both have no intention of sharing their own secrets. Even if the foundation of their idyllic family is deceit, the Forgers eventually realize that their love for one another is more important than anything else.
