These are lushly orchestrated versions of all the classics. Starts with Nat King Cole doing The Christmas Song (Merry Christmas To You), possibly better than co-writer Mel Tormé.  Next up: Let It Snow!… by Dean Martin. Wow!  (And don't scoff, it was a different time).  Then comes The Beach Boys' version of Santa Claus Is Comin’ To Town, fitting right in with the orchestra. Jazzy. What a start, but the list goes on: Lou Rawls, Peggy Lee, Bebe & Cece Winans, Kenny Rogers, Al Green (!), Ella Fitzgerald, Bing Crosby, and, of course, Guy Lombardo doing…well, you know. Highlights: short but great sax solo on The O’Jays’ Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas, the drums and horns on the live version of José Feliciano doing Felíz Navidad, and Charles Brown’s bluesy piano on Merry Christmas, Baby.  Very classy.  Very rare.
