There is no possibility of any kind of fading, the color is permanent. No pigment of any kind is used.
 The process is a metallic one in which the colors are accelerated in an almost complete vacuum chamber (1/billionth of an atmosphere) of which the druse is the target. In other words the coverage is metal does not have pigments/inks, is done in a vacuum, where the metal is accelerated against the penetrating in the same stone, the coverage will not come out.

Coating  makes the natural beauty enhanced and increases the natural  sparkle. It does add some 
accents in multiple colors that still lets the natural features of the stone show. Size of sparkles will be partly determined by underlying stone's crystals.

Chalcedony rosettes, sometimes called concha or snake agate,  come from weathered volcanic rocks.   Typically covered with sparkling, radially grown quartz crystals.  They are believed to have the general healing properties of chalcedony.
