Laurentian Rutabaga (Brassica napus), also known as Swedes or Swedish Turnips, will produce nice flavorful globular roots that span up to 6" across. Purple at the top of the root and a yellowish color on the bottom. Excellent when cooked in soups, boiled, roasted or mashed. Also great on fresh salads. Rutabaga originates from the 17th century as a cross between a turnip and cabbage. A great source of Vitamin C and carotenoids
