Our Lady of the Rosary
Vintage Catholic Holy Card
This charming vintage holy card shows Our Lady holding the child Jesus, and each of them holding a Rosary. Happy and cheerful, the pair are exalted on a pedestal, but still they kindly offer you this power. Pray the Rosary, they seem to say. You can stop evil and magnify the best in people! The inscription is Italian, and means "Ancient and Miraculous image of the Blessed Virgin of the Rosary." "Venerata A Rimini" could be "Blessings to Rimini" or "[She is] Revered in Rimini." Rimini was and is an Italian resort town on the Adriatic coast. There is a church there named "Our Lady of the Rosary," so we think this might have been a souvenir to take home from your vacation in Rimini!
Lithograph. 1920s. Italy.
Looks great in a den or a bedroom, or any corner of the house where you say your Rosaries!
** IMPORTANT ** THE IMAGE IS SMALLER THAN THE PAPER! There is a white border of about 0.5" inch for 5x7", 1.3" for 8.5x11", or 1.6" for 11x14" pictures. All Approx! Fine art printers do this because the images are almost never the same rectangular ratio of the standard paper sizes. It also gives the prints a finished look, and lets them look good in a frame without a matt.
- Acid-free paper
- Archival pigments, rated to last for generations.
- Cardboard backer
- Above story of the art
- Enclosed in a tight-fitting, crystal clear bag.
