Cass Model 209 Wood Toy Train Circa Mid-Century 5 Car Set
Here is a very nice vintage N D Cass #209 Limited wooden pull train set from the mid century era, most likely 1950's. 5 Car Set: Engine, Coal Car, Flat Car, Tanker, Caboose. The N. D. Cass Company of Athol, Massachusetts was in business for over 100 years and manufactured and marketed a wide variety of toys and children's furniture, all featuring wood construction. Cass produced many different rolling and pulling toys including their centerpiece train sets. Model 209 was their largest train, and this is a good example of the variety of rolling stock they made for it. This set includes five cars:
1) 14" Streamlined Engine
2) 9" Coal Car
3) 11" Flat Car
4) 11" Tank Car
5) 11" Caboose
Overall length just under five feet. Well loved and played with for a patina that can only come from time and use.
