1950's ORTHO Lawn Sprayer, Hayes Spray Gun, Pasadena, Glass Quart Jar, Metal Spray Attachment, Mid-Century Graphics, Weed & Insect Killer. Here is a very nice 1950's ORTHO Lawn Sprayer with the Hayes Spray Gun Company hose attachment. Lovely mid-century graphics: "WEED KILLER!" Progenitor of the modern all plastic Dial 'N Spray models. Glass Quart Jar and All Metal Spray Attachment with original washer and aerator. ORTHO was Chevron's entry into the Lawn and Garden marketplace, postwar. After many environmental disasters worldwide the product line was finally sold to Monsanto in 1993. Fabulous for garden art display, or if you are daring go ahead and hook it up and use it as a your watering spray gun! (I have left this uncleaned since many buyers like it that way, but will clean it up and make it sparkle for you at your request, no extra charge.)
DEATH IN THE GARDEN
When we started Portland Pandemonium we needed things to fill up our store so we simply walked around our yard and garden and started "picking" stuff right where we lived! We had big collections of outdoor items including bird houses, thermometers, metal signs, gee-gaws, tin containers, old garden tools, and a ton of decorative items here and there and everywhere around the place and it was these objects that helped make up our initial shop's inventory. Plus, this turned out to be the beginning of our age-related "downsizing" soon to come!
Today this kind of yard & garden stuff continues to be a staple for us and we are always looking for things that might find their best use by being stuck somewhere in a yard or garden. And, of course, the odder and quirkier the better. So, come take a little stroll around our garden with us, but be sure to keep both your eyes and your mind open!
