PETE MAGADINI: As an internationally acclaimed performer, educator and author, Peter Magadini has played with many renowned artists including Diana Ross, George Duke, Mose Allison, Sonny Stitt, Chet Baker and John Handy. He has also played percussion with the Berkshire Music Festival Orchestra at Tangelwood, The Toronto Symphony and the Formm Festival of Contemporary Music at Carnegie Hall. In addition, Peter has performed as a studio musician in the US and Canada and has been featured on many recordings with his own quintet.
Mr. Magadini holds degrees from both the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and the University of Toronto and counts among his teachers drummers Don Bothwell, Roy Burns, Timpanist Roland Kohloff and North Indian tabla master Mahapurush Misra.
He is a celebrated educator and the author of many critically acclaimed books including the Musicians Guide to Polyrhythms, voted 6th on Modern Drummer Magazines list of the 25 greatest drum books.
REG SHWAGER: Reg Schwager began playing professionally in his teens and rapidly rose to become one of the most respected Jazz guitarists ion North America. His extensive touring experience is clearly identified in his confident style and Reg has toured with Diana Krall, Peter Appleyard, Rob McConnell and numerous others, including George Shearing, with whom he played for many years. Reg has played on over eighty commercial recordings with such musical luminaries as Junior Mance, Gary Burton, George Shearing and Mel Torme.
Noted for his inspiring compositions, Reg has written hundreds of compositions from solo guitar to big band arrangements, from mainstream to avant garde jazz and has won and been nominated for multiple Juno Awards.
KEN LISTER: Ken Lister has been a professional jazz bassist since 1983, winning accolades and Juno awards along the way. He currently performs and teaches in Vancouver and on Vancouver Island and has toured across Canada and internationally to Australia, the British Isles, Cuba and South America.
As a member of the Phil Dwyer Orchestra, Ken won a Juno Award for Contemporary Jazz Album of the Year, 2012, and with the Hugh Fraser Quintet, the Juno Award for the Best Mainstream Jazz Album of 1997.
As a freelance bassist, Ken enjoys opportunities to perform with many of his talented peers.
He has performed with many great musicians including Don Thompson, Linton Garner, Ross Taggart, Tommy Banks, Phil Dwyer, Ingrid Jensen, David Hazeltine, Misha Piatigorsky, Pat Coleman, Bill Mays, Vincent Herring, David Schnitter, Jim Rotondi, Steve Davis, Dmitry Baevsky, Ray Vega, Thomas Merriott, Ian Hendrickson Smith, Terrell Stafford, Slide Hampton, Chucho Valdes, Steve Turre, Kenny Wheeler, Joshua Redman, Herb Ellis, Charlie Byrd, Rob McConnell, Ian McDougall, P.J.
