The author, Raul Perez Maldonado, Director of the National Archaeological Museum of Chichicastenango, has spent his life among the radians of the highlands of Guatemala. His special interest has been the cultural aspects of their life, with special emphasis on that of the Kiches. This volume has been prepared with the hope that the reader will take with him a little of the understanding and love that the author has for the Kiches and other Indians of Guatemala.
