Product Description: The history of the city of Neumarkt in the Upper Palatinate begins during the year 1100. Founded initially as a new marketplace between Nuremberg and Regensburg, the city quickly developed into the center of the region. Their history reached a climax when Neumarkt became the residence of the Wittelsbach Courts Palantine in the Upper Palatinate in the 15th and 16th centuries. The city ended up losing its importance, only to regain it in the 19th century due to its central location. The city is largely destroyed by the first half of the 20th century. It rebuilds to become an economic and cultural center of western Upper Palatinate once again.
