This is a beautiful vase with vibrant shades of blue in the flower and dark red leaves.  The vase was made by Scheurich in West Germany sometime in the 1960's.   Photos do not do this piece justice.  Antique/Vintage items are almost never without some sort of condition issues.  I describe as accurately as possible.

Vintage West Germany 657-14 Stoneware MCM Hand Painted Floral Vase Pottery.  This piece stands approximately 5 3/4" tall and the mouth is approximately 2" in diameter and the base is approximately 3" in diameter.  The middle flares out to approximately 3 1/2" and then tapers back to 3" at the base.  This piece has some sort of ribbing in the pottery itself - almost like "gripping" all the way around it.  It's as if the potter used a fork and sporadically scored it all the way around but horizontally.  There is a blackish solid ring around the top and bottom and a pretty blue flower with dark-red leaves in the middle.  Notice the smears on the black ring around the bottom.  This was done when item was painted & fired.

This is a beautiful piece in excellent preowned condition.  Barely visible are two fine hairline fractures on the top rim.  See in pictures.  This does not affect the beauty or utility of this piece.  Smears in the paint on the bottom black ring was done at time of creation and is a defect from the crafter.
