Fabulous mid century design in this 1953 Russel Wright • Residential series melamine (plastic similar melmac) sea mist lug bowl! Lovely iconic modern design, this lug bowl is such a fab piece to add the wow factor while serving up your tasty treats! Wonderful unique mottled speckle design in grey and blue with gloss finish. This beauty has stood the test of time and is ready to add glam to your modern home! Wright's second line of Melamine was called "Residential" which was a sleek modern stylish design it was produced by the Northern Industrial Chemical Company, in South Boston, Massachusetts.
Known for bringing mid century modern to the dining room table, Russel Wright's designs were simple and elegant at the same time! Wright 's American Modern dinnerware, produced by Steubenville Pottery Company of Ohio, was introduced in 1939 and had sold some 250 million pieces by the end of the 1950s. The original colors were Sea-foam Blue, Coral, Chartreuse, Grey, White, and Bean Brown.

Lug bowl is in excellent condition! No chips or dings! The usual light pre-loved surface wear here and there from years of adding flair to Betty's bridge party nuts, but nothing that distracts from this mid century treasure! Look to have been used very little!
