What is a Serigraph?
Serigraphy is a silk-screen printing process in which a stencil is used to mask areas of a fine mesh (at one time, silk; more recently, artificial fabrics); ink is then forced through the unmasked areas of mesh onto paper to make the final image. Each color used in the final image requires the silk-screener to make a separate screen, masked so as to allow only that particular color to print.

Born in Ahwaz, Iran, Sabzi started painting at the age of twelve and was encouraged in his early progression as an artist by his parents and teachers. Sabzi's subjects are almost always women, beautiful graceful, taciturn and melancholy; they reflect love, mystery and solitude. His paintings resonate both Eastern and Western philosophies. His rich Persian heritage provides him with ancient images, sentimental Persian themes and memories of innocence. He draws from the Western influence of modernism found in the works of Klee, Cezanne, Matisse and Bonnard.
