The range of colors and mood are just magnificent.
The back of the stretcher wood appears to have about seven round bug holes on the back
indicating it may be from Scotland.
The frame is very light wood and has almost a sparkle sheen to the grain, not dull wood.
Rocks in the painting are similar to those of the Scottish Highland shore which have orange lichen, alabaster barnacles and red bands, black seaweed and bluish rocks.
Artist possibly related to Ramsay MacMullen b.1928 History Prof. at Yale University.
Found this painting in San Pedro below Palos Verdes Estates and some Mac Mullens live in Palos Verdes, CA.
