The title page of this book indicates that BRIAN GARFIELD wrote this World War II military thriller "in collaboration with 'CHRISTOPHER CREIGHTON'', who is the "paladin" of the book's title. "Creighton" claimed that all of the incidents depicted in the novel actually happened to him before and during World War II; and that a set of childhood experiences had led to his early association with WINSTON CHURCHILL, who was not yet the British Prime Minister at the time of their first meeting. While the espionage and commando experiences depicted in the book may seem quite outlandish to have actually been entrusted to a mere teenage boy during wartime, there are numerous other authentic wartime accounts of a similar nature that indicate that the espionage adventures of "CHRISTOPHER CREIGHTON" may actually have occurred; and, additionally, it is quite possible that "CHRISTOPHER CREIGHTON" was, in actuality, an individual named. JOHN AINSWORTH-DAVIES. And, true or not, THE PALADIN is a definite page-turner, which I genuinely recommend!
