WAR POSTER 20th Century- 

J.H.King- We made a Monkey out of You. 1943

This authentic World War 2 Propaganda poster was designed by J.H. King. It is done in patriotic colors and depicts A grandiose Uncle Sam in front of the U.S. Capitol. 

Uncle Sam is the Organ Grinder and a small monkey like Hitler is tethered by a chain and dancing to Uncle Sam's music.  Hence the title: WE MADE A MONKEY OUT OF YOU. 

There are spectators, apparently amused by this act. They appear to be Chiang Kai‐shek, Churchill, and Stalin.  All characterized likenesses.  

The British figure has the British Union Jack logo on his chest, the Stalin? /Russian has classic Cossack boots and period attire. 

It is framed in a black solid wood satin finish, measuring 17x21 behind glass.  On the reverse is some provenance.  In the lower right it reads J.H.King copyright 1943. 

It is in a great state of preservation with only mild toning.  Up to the buyer to archival mount.  

The graphic itself measures 20x15”.   

Rarely seen in this condition for being 80 years old.
