Here we have an exquisite and very rare Qianlong Mark and Period (1735 to 1796) original 18th century Canton enamel snuff bottle pendant.

This exquisite pendant is decorated across the whole with painted enamel depicting panoramic scenes with mountains and people in traditional dress. The colors are rich but subtle varying beautifully in tones with continuous decoration to the sides, the front and the back so the design flows seamlessly across the whole surface. The proportions of the bottle and shape are beautiful and it feels lovely to hold in your hand. The enamel glaze is lustrous.

It measures approximately just a tad less than 2" tall by 2 1/8" wide by 15/16" deep (50mm x 54mm x 23mm) weighing 59.5 grams.

This amazing 18th century bottle is in lovely condition commensurate with the age, authenticity and use of this rare piece. Viewed with magnification there is some wear to the enamel that appears visually as a slight dustiness or graininess here and there in one place there is a small circular anomaly from the firing of the enamel apparent only on examination of the surface closely. There is some rubber added to the original copper spoon and stopper so it fits securely when it is worn. It presents beautifully and is ready to display or to wear as you choose.

Originally this piece would have been worn around the waist. Today of course it can be worn as a pendant if so desired.

The photos form part of the description of this special antique snuff bottle pendant. Like all colors there is a color variation that occurs in different lighting conditions both inside but also outside, even the time of day can make a color  appear a little different. We do our best to show colors as we see them. Color perception is highly individual and some people can perceive more colors than others, also colors can appear somewhat different on different screens and devices due to variations in screen hardware and device display settings.
