1884 Antique American Shipmasters Assoc Billhead Receipt 8" x 3.5" CR Johnson --

In excellent condition. Please see detailed photos.

The American Shipmasters’ Association, later the American Bureau of Shipping, was organized in 1861 to improve the American Mercantile Marine Service and the general skill and moral character of those attached to the seamen’s profession. Licenses had been issued intermittently by the United States Steamboat Inspection Service, but no continuous effort had been made to insure the skill and character of shipmasters until John D. Hones called together maritime insurers, shipbuilders, government officials and maritime experts to form the American Shipmasters’ Association in 1861.

USA SELLERS.

I accept PayPal. I also combine shipping on multiple orders. I can oftentimes combine shipping for one low price- as long as the items won are similar in size, etc. For instance, if you win a group of 5 cards in 5 separate auctions, I should be able to group them all together in one padded envelope for a low shipping price. Be sure to let me know if you think combined shipping makes sense for your order. Also, when paying for multiple winnings, please pay with one combined payment.
