This portrait poster print is of the legendary Native Indian Chief Sitting Bull (Tatanka-Iyotanka).
Born 1831, near Grand River, Dakota Territory (now in South Dakota), he was the first man to become chief of the entire Lakota Sioux nation, and united the Oceti Sakowin (Sioux) tribes of the American Great Plains against white settlers who were grabbing their tribal lands.
Sitting Bull died December 1890, on the Grand River, South Dakota.
