Brass Relief Tumi from Arequipa Peru
- The Tumi is a ceremonial knife.
- When held by hand it was used by the Incas to cut the scalp, trephine the skull and drain the evil spirits.
- Many healed from blood clots or infections
- The Tumi is also the logo of the Peruvian American Medical Society PAMS in the USA.
- Has Arequipa Peru stamped under the image
- Pre Columbian era
- Solid brass mounted on Sillar, which is natural volcanic stone carved from the skirts of the volcano El Misti
- Has hanging mount at top
- This is heavy
- Overall size is almost 11" height x 6 1/2" wide x 2 1/2" depth
