This pair of silver mercury glass candles could possibly date before 1930 up to the 1950's. Considered nowadays to be mid-century modern in style, they were actually made much earlier than that. The mercury glass shows aging at the bases as would be appropriate for items of this age. The main body of the candles, however, is perfect with no issues to the silvering whatsoever ... they are highly reflective and very shiny silver (not sure why photos look gold, must be reflection -- they are absolutely SILVER). The corks are still intact in the bases and the candles have glass "flame" shaped tips which have traces of red paint still on them. These candles measure 12-1/2" from tip to bottom and are in perfect condition with no chips or cracks to the glass.
