Jojoba Germination:
1) Soak the seeds for 24 hours in water that is heated to 85-90 degrees F. Use a thermos to help keep the water warm for as long as possible. This will greatly increase germination rates. Also, for Jojoba seeds it is necessary to use a heated propagator mat set at 90-95 degrees F.
2) Sow seeds 1 inch deep in very well draining "sandy cactus starting mixed soil" and keep it barely moist and at 90-95 degrees F. Do not over water or keep wet at any time; just keep the soil barely moist but never let it dry out. Misting the soil with a spray bottle is optimal with little risk of overwatering.
3) Expect germination between 20 to 30 days. Without a heated propagator they could take months.
