The Reverend George William Lose was born in 1852 in Pennsylvania, graduated in Columbus, OH from the seminary in 1874 and began his career in the Evangelical Lutheran tradition. He preached in small towns about the land, in Ohio, Pennsylvania and Viriginia before settling in Massillon, Ohio in 1899 where he lived the rest of his life.
He was the assistant editor of Lutheran Youth, in recognition of his writing skills.
