 by William C. Anderson

Shot down over the enemy-infested jungle of Vietnam, Air force Lt. Colonel Hambleton evades the North Vietnamese for 12 harrowing days before being rescued. Bat-21 is the minute-by-minute re-creation of both Hambleton's ordeal and the desperate efforts of his would-be rescuers.

A 1988 film (Bat*21) was adapted from Anderson's book, with Gene Hackman and Danny Glover in starring roles.

The uncommon true first edition of this classic Vietnam War rescue operation.
