Made from heartwood of tamarind tree (Tamarindus indica), known as Galih Asem in Java (galih=heartwood, asem=tamarind). Very hard with reddish dark brown color. In Javanese culture, galih asem believed to bring salvation to the wearer.

Handmade, some beads not perfectly round and a little different in size, also there may be a slight defect on some beads.
