GDFB's Bucklers have gained a well deserved reputation as being some of the toughest on the market for standing up to reenactment & combat use. Due to popular demand we've increased the size of the dome on this buckler to fit even the largest of armored gloves comfortably. Crafted in 14 gauge steel, all of our bucklers have rolled edges and riveted steel handles for years of hard use in the field. And they look good while doing it!

Comments: Recommended, good gear. If you want a buckler or shield for HEMA sparring these are the best on the market. Widely used in heavy steel fighting as well as other forms of combat like my local Adria and SCA groups. See photos I included with a couple of our knights on the field. New extremely large boss allows ample room for even large steel gauntlets. The only complaint I've ever had about these is that they're heavy. What can I say? I mean, I have a sword that weighs a little over 3 pounds, I think I can hold a buckler up for a while. That's ok if you prefer to fight with a cute little polycarbonate one but good luck when your opponents start beating on you with heavy steel weapons :) I'm a collector and a weekend warrior, active in local groups.
