These fascinating images were taken from the north wall of the Grand Temple of Egyptian god Osiris. There were part of the artwork in the pronaos - the entrance hall, leading to an inner chamber in his temple.
These illustrations are from Monuments de l'Egypte et de la Nubie (1835-1845) published by French explorer and Egyptologist, Jean Francois Champollion.
He was the first to decipher the scenes he discovered on the walls of Egyptian temples and tombs. And he also decoded the languages and scripts on The Rosetta Stone.
