FHIA-03 “Sweetheart” Dwarf Banana Plant – RARE Dwarf Banana
The plants are young Sweetheart Dwarf Banana Plants.
The plants are anywhere from between 4″-8″+ tall and are planted in 4″ pots.
It has a high wind resistance, some cold tolerance and and excellent disease resistance with s strong pseudo-stem and base.
It is considered a dwarf, reaching a height of 7′-11’ft tall
The “Sweetheart” hybrid AKA FHIA-03, which was developed in 1987 and is an outstanding producer of delicious tasting bananas that are reminiscent of one of its parents, Musa ‘Dwarf Prata’. It may be eaten as a fresh fruit when ripe and an excellent taste when cooked green.
It has great potential for areas with marginal soils that do not allow the Cavendish banana to grow well.
The ripe fruits have an “apple” flavor.
It should be taken into account that, once the bunch is harvested, its green life is short and the hands should be harvested one at a time from the plants as needed.
Zones 9-11 or down to 20°.
Ships in 2x2" pop and are 4-12" tall.
