Vinyl plays with crackles and some clicks (play-graded). Cover looks great, a few creases near edges; scuffing, faint surface impressions, some rippling and discoloration spots (front/back). Inner-sleeve is generic white. Spine and top-edge are completely split, both with wear; spine has no text. Split near center and heavy shelf-wear along bottom-edge. Opening is crisp with signs of light use and divots. (Not a cut-out.)
Sings Five Early Songs, by Harry Belafonte, is a repackaging of the album Folk Songs And Calypso with an alternate track list. Of the Belafonte tracks, one was a genuine West Indian folk song: Venezuela, which had been released as a single by Jubilee in 1954. The additional Belafonte tracks are Annabelle Lee, Only One Like Me, The Night Has a Thousand Eyes, and Simple, Simple, Simple. The album also features The Islanders, a young group who are equally talented singing or playing the rhythmic musical instruments of the Carribean.
