1939 Mahjong set by J. Pressman & Co. called Chinese Tiles, Made in the USA. The tiles are made of a light wood block with a green backing and the tile face sandwiched on either side. The tiles are primitive in that some of the faces are off center and the tiles are not completely uniform in size. The tiles are about 1-1/4" x 7/8" wide x 1/4" thick. All tiles are present. Also included are 4 black wooden racks for holding the tiles, round multi-colored markers for keeping score and an instruction book. The rules are for American style mahjong as opposed to Asian versions, however, the tiles are the same. The box cover has some staining from water, but is otherwise in very good condition with no tears and minimal color loss. The box is marked Made in the USA, J. Pressman & Co. New York, NY and No. 823. The tiles, round markers, racks and instruction booklet are all very good.
