Grow Your Own Guava Trees from Seed!

Instructions:

 

1. Prepare Soil: Choose well-draining soil with a pH between 5.5 and 7.0. Loosen the soil to a depth of at least 12 inches and remove any rocks or debris.

2. Soak Seeds (Optional): Some gardeners recommend soaking guava seeds in water for 24 hours before planting to improve germination.

3. Plant Seeds: Plant guava seeds in pots or directly in the ground, about 1 inch deep. Cover with soil and water gently.

4. Provide Warmth: Guava seeds germinate best in warm temperatures. Place pots in a warm, sunny location indoors or outdoors.

5. Water: Keep the soil evenly moist but not waterlogged. Water when the top inch of soil feels dry.

6. Patience: Guava seeds may take several weeks to germinate. Be patient and keep the soil consistently moist.

7. Transplant: Once guava seedlings have grown to a suitable size (6-12 inches tall) and developed a few sets of true leaves, transplant them into larger pots or directly into the ground.

8. Care: Guava trees prefer full sun and well-draining soil. Water regularly during the growing season, especially during hot weather. Mulch around the base of the tree to retain soil moisture.

9. Prune (Optional): Prune guava trees as needed to maintain shape and encourage fruit production. Remove any dead or damaged branches.
