The Toaster Lever is an OEM replacement part for Whirlpool brand toasters. This lever allows for control of the toast lowering function. It measures about 1 inch wide by 1/2 an inch high by 1-1/2 inches deep.

The lever utilizes a spring-loaded pivot point to provide soft resistance when lowering bread into or removing it from the heating elements. Its ergonomic shape permits easy single-hand operation for multiple slices in quick succession.

Causes of a bad lever include wear and tear over thousands of use cycles, stress fractures from overly forceful movement, or damage at the pivot point inhibiting smooth motion.

Symptoms of a bad lever include:

  • Difficulty lowering or lifting bread fully
  • Requires two hands or excessive force for operation
  • Loose, wobbly feel when engaging the lever
  • Broken or missing edge guards exposing sharp surfaces
