This part is a washing machine timer. This is the component that controls the washing machine functions and the length of time for each of the cycles. Signs that the timer has gone bad can vary. For example, the washing machine may only wash but will not spin or drain. It might skip cycles or stall mid-cycle. The washing machine could become stuck on a cycle also. If this is happening, the repair person can check for continuity through the timer motor by using a multimeter. If it measures infinite resistance, the timer will need to be replaced.
