This is a vintage braided four plait rawhide reata that measures 18 feet long. It's difficult to find reatas this length, as most vintage show reatas measure between 6 and 9 feet. The reata is in clean well maintained pre-owned condition with no places where the braiding is coming loose or cut. The reata is made from braided 4 plait rawhide with a braided rawhide hondo and tail. As is typical of these show riatas, it was probably carried on a show saddle in accordance with AHSA stock rules and saw very light use. The leather is fairly clean and has been maintained with conditioner.
This is a super nice vintage show riata that you can carry on your show saddle or add to your Western Collectibles for display. Reatas that are this beautifully braided are very difficult to find and are seldom made these days. This is a really nice finish piece for the most discerning eye and will be a great addition to any Vaquero Collection.
