Collection of eight westerns from the 1930s starring John Wayne. In 'Hell Town' (1937) cowhand Dare Rudd (Wayne) likes to gamble more than anything which earns him the disapproval of his socially-upstanding cousin, Tom Fillmore (Johnny Mack Brown). In fact, Dare and Tom don't see eye-to-eye on anything and seem happy to keep out of each other's way but when Dare falls for Tom's girl, complications arise. In 'Frontier Horizon' (1939) Stony Brooke (Wayne) is an honest man who, with the Three Mesquiteers, is subject to a crooked property deal in which some prospectors are trying to get the good guys to exchange their land. In 'The Lucky Texan' (1934) Jerry Mason (Wayne), a young Texan, becomes partners with old rancher Jake Benson (George 'Gabby' Hayes) and they strike it rich with a gold mine. However, their fortune is short-lived when a couple of villains shoot Benson and frame Mason for murder. In 'The Desert Trail' (1935) championship rodeo rider John Scott (Wayne) finds himself falsely accused of being a bank robber and fights to clear his name. In 'Paradise Canyon' (1935) John Wyatt (Wayne) is an undercover government agent who is assigned to a case to thwart a gang of counterfeiters. In ''Neath the Arizona Skies' (1934) tough cowboy Chris Morrell (Wayne) takes a young Native Indian girl into his protection while she searches for her father but they run into trouble in the form of outlaw Sam Black (Yakima Canutt) and his gang. In 'Randy Rides Alone' (1934), after being wrongly accused of murder and robbery, Randy Bowers (John Wayne) is released from jail to track down the real criminals. In 'The Trail Beyond' (1934) cowboy Rod Drew (Wayne) and his friend, Wabi (Noah Beery Jr), go in search of a missing father and daughter and come across a map for a gold mine which is being sought after by villainous trapper Jules LaRocque (Robert Frazer).
