Collection of three films based around the subject of war. 'Adolf Eichmann' (2007) is an historical drama based on the final confession of one of the main architects of the Nazi Holocaust, prior to his execution in Israel in 1962. After being abducted by Israeli secret service agents in Argentina in 1960, Adolf Eichmann (Thomas Kretschmann), was taken back to Israel to stand trial for crimes against humanity. A young Israeli Police officer, Captain Avner Less (Troy Garity), was handed the responsibility of interrogating the former S.S. Lieutenant Colonel, a task which developed into a cat-and-mouse battle of wills, starkly contrasting their opposing ideologies. Uwe Boll writes and directs 'Auschwitz' (2011), a brutal drama, interspersed with documentary footage, depicting the day-to-day workings of the Nazi concentration camp at Auschwitz. Boll himself plays a German officer guarding one of the camp's gas chambers, in which thousands of men, women and children were suffocated to death, usually within hours of arriving at the camp. 'Valkyrie' (2008) is a World War II suspense thriller starring Tom Cruise and Kenneth Branagh. At the height of the war, a group of high-ranking German officers, including Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg (Cruise), Major-General Henning von Tresckow (Branagh) and General Friedrich Olbricht (Bill Nighy), hatched a plot to assassinate Adolf Hitler (David Bamber) and seize power of the military command in order to end the war and make peace with Allied forces. The operation, codenamed 'Valkyrie', was modified by the conspirators to ensure its success, but for various reasons the plot failed when finally carried out on 20th July 1944, and the conspirators of the inner circle were executed following a trial.
